What is Sliding Scale?

 

Sliding Scale is a pricing model that allows both the client and therapist to feel sustainable in their work together.​​ This allows more clients to access services who would not be able to afford the baseline rate on their own.

Clients are able to choose their service rate based on their individual financial needs.The therapists sets the financial parameters to ensure they are able to sustain services.

 

Often times, there is a subsidized rate, baseline rate, and supplementary rate.

Ex:​​​ $75---$100--- $125

What is Considered When Choosing a Rate?

 

While some providers assign tiers based on income, Reclamation Holistic Therapy leaves the choice up to the client, as we know income is not the only financial parameter.

 

Clients should consider:

• Income

• Mandatory Expenses

• Dependents

• Frequency Need of Services

• Historical Access to Therapy

• General Accessibility needs.

What is Historical Access to Therapy?

Historically, individuals who hold socioeconomic statuses such as: Middle/Upper Financial Class, Heterosexual, White, and Able-Bodied statuses have not had identity-based barriers to accessing therapy. This factor should be considered when choosing a financial rate to actively work against systemic inaccessibility to therapeutic services.

Life is complicated. Individuals may face non- identity-based hardships and still choose the subsidized rate. But, consideration is important.

Why should I choose the Supplementary Rate?

Choosing the Supplementary Rate allows therapists to offer subsidized rates for services sustainably. When we ensure access to therapy and healing support for our neighbors, we live in a healthier community overall. This benefits everyone!

How Do I Access Sliding Scale Rates?

​

At Reclamation Holistic Therapy, individuals are invited to pay the base rate when booking an appointment.

  • Absolutely not! You may choose your rate during any session. Life is complicated.

• If I utilize the cancellation policy, do I pay the baseline rate?

  • Cancellation fees are calculated based on booking. If you applied a subsidized discount fee, you will be charged that amount.

  • If you did not apply the code, you will be charged at the baseline rate​​​​​
